the library

So I’m sitting at the SCU Library studying for my MKTG 183 (Consumer Behavior) midterm that’s tomorrow, and I find myself at the prime viewing location by the glass windows by the stairs leading to the 2nd floor.  And what I realized from my observation point is how many DIFFERENT types of people we have at Santa Clara University, and how amazingly, through some common ground called schoolwork, we come together to this one meeting spot.  The athletes, the nerds, the wanna-be nerds, the punks, the musicians, the international kids, etc etc etc.  If Santa Clara University isn’t as diverse in ethnicities, it sure is diverse in personalities.  Man, I love people watching. Haha, ok time to get back to work. PEACE.

PASSION

May 20, 2009 at 1:46 pm (Food for Thought)

i am a passionate person with passions and dreams.

i am passionate about my family. i am passionate about my friends. i am passionate about skittles, pictures that scream a thousand words (vs. “a picture says a thousand words”), orange things. i am passionate about music that moves me, whichever way that may be.  i am passionate about good food, and love people who can make good food for me (hehehe). i am passionate about random opportunities that come my way and realizing how different my life would be if I hadn’t been confident enough to just DO IT. i am passionate about doing things that will make me happy, but more than that, i am passionate about doing things that make others happy. i am passionate about making myself a better person.  i am passionate about learning and living and not finding reason for regret.

Find your passion, and BE PASSIONATE.

21 going on…dang, there’s nothing left to look forward to!

May 20, 2009 at 11:33 am (Food for Thought) (, , , , , )

So the last housemate of the lovely residence of Womanizer (where I live) has finally turned 21 (against her own free will, haha)!  In the midst of our birthday party festivities, I had a very intellectual conversation with a few of the party-goers about the importance of age.

Our conclusions:

  • 21 is the last age you can really look forward to
  • Drinking when you’re 21 gets old faster. I think it has to do with it being legal now that makes it lose its appeal
  • When you’re 21, adults’ reactions are “OH! You’re still so young!”
  • When you’re 22 and onward, adults look at you and say “Oh…well…” Yes, you are no longer THAT young.
  • The next “big” age to be is 30, and you do NOT want to be 30
  • If you’re already 21, start dreading your birthdays NOW.  It doesn’t get any better.

I feel so old. Yet I know I’m young. GRR, I miss highschool where I knew where I would be for the next 4 years of my life.  But I’m just about done with college now, and reality is creeping in.  Where will I be in 5 years?
